Our First Event At The White Hart

We were delighted to host our very first networking night at The White Hart last Tuesday and have been so excited to hear everyone’s feedback.

An informal get-together over English Sparkling and local charcuterie, the evening began with guests being greeted with a glass of fizz and a handy name tag. It didn’t long for everyone to be introduced and get chatting. We had a fantastic group of people attend; from winemakers, farmers, distillers and artisan bakers, to content creators, digital marketing experts, sales managers, distributors and PR directors.

The main point of our first event was to get an idea of what our future members wanted to achieve from a network like this. We all seem to like the idea of benefitting from contacts and promotion within the community and wider to the rest of the UK and beyond.

One concept that popped up was to create a virtual village market or high street, where producers could get together and sell their wine, cheese, bread, products in one place, and have it delivered locally and nationwide.

Another was the idea to create a regular newsletter or magazine featuring all the wonderful foodie events, tastings, new releases and launches that are constantly taking place in the Weald, but often fly under the radar, or depend on local groups on Facebook. Targeted, curated and visually exciting, The Village newsletter will be something to look forward to each month.

Overall, we were delighted with the feedback and look forward to growing the network together with our members. Our next step is to put everyone in touch with each other and organise the next event. In the meantime, Carla will be offering photoshoots for each of our members future newsletters, and Anne will be gathering everyone’s news and begin populating the marketplace. Exciting times ahead!
